MARIGOLD This poem is inspired by daffodils by William Wordsworth: One day that was sunny, Many steps I took hurriedly. Seeing a white, fluffy bunny, I sat under a tree quietly. Ahead was a gurgling pond Ahead was another March Hare With one more as a bond Eating the meadow's grass so bare. Behind me were steep slopes Above me was a strong tree With a joyful swing with ropes And the leaves with birds so free. Surrounded was I with bright Orange and strong marigolds, Turned I to the right, And saw more marigold abodes. I thought and wished I could stay here forever And suddenly it all finished A beautiful dream that I would have only once. -Erica Anahtreek
