Chemistry
Chemistry
You’ll know it
is chemistry
When there is
a pinch of mystery
And when Iron
is called Ferrum
And lead is
called Plumbum.
When it’s Na
as in natrium
And not So for
sodium
It’s K for
potassium; not a P
Things far
from what you see.
When the
valency of H is 1
The use of
that is just done
Because the formula
is H2O2
Then the world
has gone askew.
When inert
gases like Xenon don’t react
But there is a
Xenon difluoride in fact
When it gets
colder, they contract
But water has
a whole different act.
When your
world is inside out
And you mind
is full of doubt
Don’t worry as
you’re learning chemistry
There must be
some sort of wizardry.
When rules
here don’t always matter
When your mind
wants to stammer
The weirdness
has just begun
Chemistry is
going to be a lot of fun.
